Student Assistant Position with EE Computing

The Computing group in UW Electrical Engineering is hiring a student
helper to assist us in support of UWEE students, faculty, and staff.

Assigned tasks will include:

- Maintaining our student instructional labs: filling printer paper;
moving computers; connecting displays, keyboards, mice; occasionally
picking up stray papers and books; etc.
- Assisting the Windows administrator in preparing new computers (or
updating current ones) used by students, faculty, and staff.
- Assisting the Unix administrator and webmaster with occasional tasks
- Assisting the group with tracking the status of our hardware and
  software.
- Helping handle/process computing equipment for surplus.
- Other duties as assigned.

While most of the time you'll primarily interact with our computing
staff, you will occasionally need to interact with end users - so
communication skills are important. Some knowledge of Microsoft Windows
and computers in general is recommended. Familiarity with commonly used
software, such as Microsoft Office or Adobe Acrobat, is a plus. We don't
expect you to necessarily come in knowing how to do everything - there
will probably be tasks for which we'll have to train you.

You must be a current student at the University of Washington, but you
do not need to be an Electrical Engineering major.

If you're interested, please send an email to Travis Saling at
trav@ee.washington.edu - include any relevant experience and/or skills
in that message.
