PhD Programs at USC: REACH 2013

Greetings from the USC Viterbi School of Engineering.  I hope this letter finds you well.
The Viterbi School is pleased to announce its annual REACH event for prospective Ph.D. students, October 24-25, 2013.
REACH brings to the University of Southern California campus talented students from all over the U.S. who are considering pursuing a Ph.D. in an engineering field. This event is particularly geared toward students from backgrounds that are historically underrepresented in the field of engineering: African-American, Latino and Native American. Travel expenses to and from Los Angeles, hotel lodging, and meals are subsidized by the Viterbi School.
Students with a background in engineering, mathematics, or a physical science who are entering their junior year in fall 2013 are invited to apply to REACH. As a selected participant, students will attend presentations by faculty about doctoral research opportunities; tour the USC campus and the engineering facilities; meet with current students to learn about graduate student life; and attend workshops on applying for PhD admission and funding graduate study. This experience will provide participants a unique opportunity to gain valuable tools and resources to prepare for application to doctoral programs upon graduation.
I encourage you to share this message with your talented students. They can visit the REACH webpage for more information and to complete an interest form (application will open in summer 2013).
