The application deadline has been extended to close March 15, 2013. Students will earn 5 credits of CEE 497 or CEE 597 for graduate students. This study abroad is open for all UW students.

Water
is a scarce commodity and in short supply in many parts of the world.
This course will examine the engineered water cycle in Jordan by
studying (1) current and historic water resources in Jordan, (2)
drinking water treatment and distribution in Jordan including the use of
cisterns and desalination, (3) treatment of warm, concentrated
wastewater including efforts for safe reuse, and (4) plans in Jordan for
meeting future challenges. Students will interact with the faculty and
students of the Jordan University for Science and Technology in Irbid,
Jordan, which will act as a base for class meetings and discussions.
